INCA TRAIL EXPERIENCE

INCA TRAIL EXPERIENCE

Machu Picchu is one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. Considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world, it has a unique geographical location high on a mountain ridge at 2,430(7,972 feet) above sea level. Surrounded by spectacular views and astonishingly well-preserved archaeological remains. Unlike most Inca remains, it is located in the high Peruvian jungle.

The Inca Trail is an intricate road system of paved roads that exceeded 30,000 kilometers (18,641 miles) that unified the entire Inca empire (Tawantinsuyo). It began in the capital Cusco covering the entire empire traveling north from Colombia, passing through Ecuador, touring Peru, continuing with Bolivia, all the way to parts of Chile and Argentina.

The Great Inca Trail was originally known in Quechua as Qhapaq Ñan.
