Each travel group is assigned a dedicated team composed of (1) a personal travel concierge in our offices, (2) a
Personal host in each destination, (3) on-site expert guides and scholars. In addition, a “behind the scenes” logistical expert is staffed on each trip in order to monitor every step of the journey. We serve our travelers before, during and after their journey, and are on call 24-hours a day during a trip. This level of coordination ensures that our travelers have a worry-free experience, and the flexibility to change the program while they are traveling if need be.

Day 1 Arrival to Lima and transfer to the hotel in Lima
Day 2 City tour, Pachacamac, lunch, Larco museum
Day 3 Transfer out to Lima airport, arrival to Cusco, transfer to Southern Valley, on the route visit Andahuaylillas church, picnic lunch at San Salvador Local house, afternoon visit Chawaytire community for weaving demo - transfer to the hotel in Sacred Valley (Urubamba)
Day 4 Hike in the inca site of Pumamarca, passing trough Conchapata inca's terraces, last place in the day Ollantaytambo Fortress - transfer to the hotel in Sacred Valley (Urubamba)
Day 5 Visit Chinchero traditional town, Moray archaeological site, lunch at a local house, Maras salt mines, transfer to the hotel in Sacred Valley (Urubamba)
Day 6 Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station, Vistadome train service to Machu Picchu, transfer to the bus station, visit to Machu Picchu, transfer to the hotel, *Dinner included at the hotel restaurant.
Day 7 Morning visit to Machu Picchu (optional hike to Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu mountain) lunch at local restaurant, transfer to the train station to take your train service to Poroy and transfer to Cusco.
Day 8 Morning transfer to the Sacsayhuaman archaeological site, site, visit to the highlights like the Cusco cathedral, and the Inca museum, farewell dinner at a local restaurant
Day 9 Morning visit to San Pedro´s market, transfer to the Cusco airport , flight to Lima, check in, flight back home.

Day 1 Arrival to Lima

An English-speaking AUQUI representative will be waiting for You  at your international arrival, will greet you and revise your trip itinerary, provide last minute information and Lima data as your drive to your hotel,  check-inn.

Depending on your arrival time today we suggest booking a table at one of Lima’s top restaurants – the ultimate culinary destination in South America.

Day 2 Pachacamac & Larco Museum

We start the day visiting this magnificent Capital of Peru Lima is a large city, with almost 9 million inhabitants, and has flower gardens, great plazas, huge cathedrals, elegant colonial homes, fine museums, and excellent hotels and restaurants. We tour historic Lima, and we visit the private Larco museum, a fine collection of Colonial Peruvian paintings, silver ornaments, preinca pottery, and gold.

Overnight in Lima.  Lunch included.

Day 3 Cusco- Southern Valley - Pisac

Flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival we will be waiting for you for a drive  along the Southern Valley of Cusco, geologically the Valley was a large lake,  the small lagoon of Huacarpay is a remnant of it , our fist stop will be to visit the Chapel of Andahuaylillas, where the original decoration of wall paintings made in the XVI and XVII centuries, was followed by oil on canvas, work of  Indian painters enhanced by magnificent baroque stile wooden gilded frames of the XVIII century, the quality of the work has made this church one of the best examples of Cusco Colonial art.. Then we drive to San Salvador, where a group of weavers of the Chawaytire community will demonstrate their art using traditional back strap looms.. After a delicious picnic lunch we´ll continue to Pisac and to Urubamba. Afterwards to our hotel.

Day 4 Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo

We leave from Urubamba to the community of Pallata located about 20 minutes above the town of Ollantaytambo, afterwards we will visit  the Inca site of Pumamarca, a magnificent place located high above the valley, consists of dozens of ceremonial and civil buildings all surrounded by an impressive wall, The site was set on fire during the rebellion of Manco Inca 1536 and the wall clay plaster has been made onto ceramics which allows us to see how the buildings looked like in Inca times,.Box Lunch. Horses available for the kids to ride up to the site..

After lunch we continue hiking along a water channel, to the terraces of Conchapata, and then hike all the way back to Ollantaytambo, visit of the Temple area and then drive to your hotel.

Day 5 Chinchero- Maras – Moray

In the morning, we drive  across a high rolling plain with magnificent views of Andean snow peaks our first stop is Chinchero a typical small town in the Peruvian Andes we then continue to MORAY, a unique archaeological site. Moray is a place of depressions or natural gigantic holes in the surface of the area that were used to construct in its contours farming terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective

Irrigation canals. What calls powerfully the attention is the difference of annual average temperature between the highest areas with the bottom of the depressions, which manages to have even 15°C in the principal depression of approximately 30 meters of depth.

MORAY, for its climatic conditions and other characteristics, was an important center of domestication, acclimatization and hybridization of vegetable, wild plants that were modified or adapted for the human consumption. We then continue towards the famous  salt ponds of Maras…. The salt world, here the local people have been processing and harvesting salt for over 1000 years.

Day 6 Trip to Machupicchu

Departure from the hotel to  Ollantaytambo train station to board the Vista dome Shuttle train train to Machupicchu..The rail journey is one of the most spectacular in the world.  The rail line follows the Urabamba river through the spectacular Canyon of Vilcanota to the Lost City of the Incas.

We will have a 25 minute bus drive to visit the Sacred Center.  Our expert guide, will share with us the most current information and personal insights of Machupicchu.

Day 7 Machupicchu - Cusco

Morning, optional hikes to the Sun Gate, Huaynapicchu, The temple of  the Moon, or to the mountain of Machupijchu, they vary in their length and difficulty, but certainly are a great option to enjoy the nature around this unique site…

5:30pm. Hiram Bingham Train Back To Cusco, this is a very nice train, life entertainment and 3 course dinner is served on the way back to Cusco.

Day 8 City tour - Pm at Leisure

In the morning We will drive to visit Sacsayhuaman, which literally translates to mean “Decorated head of the Puma.”  This was the ruling palace of the Inca that contained a temple where the living god directed his people. It was called a fortress by the Europeans due the immense stone pieces that were used in its construction, oral Cusco tradition claims that around 70,000 people worked on the palace for 50 years, Later walk along the streets and marvel at the flawless Incan stonework and picture a time and place when the Incas once had a massive empire. In the afternoon, We visit colonial Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, which contains one of the city’s greatest samples of mestizo paintings of he  XVIII century,. Following the Cathedral we will visit the Inca Historical Museum for a fine overview of the history of the Inca then we will be admitted to view the archbishop’s private collection of the corpus Christy.

Day 9 Am Central Market – Pm Fly Back to Lima...

In the morning we will walk around Cusco market is a busy hearth of the city, here the people from all around the town, congregate every day to purchase goods and to savor fruits, juices, chicken soup.. etc.

Afternoon Fly to Lima for your connecting flight to Houston  Airport assistance.
